What is Voter Id Card?
The Nepal voter ID card is an identity document issued by the Election Commission
of Nepal to adult domiciles of Nepal who have reached the age of
18, which primarily serves as an identity proof for Nepalese citizens while
casting their ballot in the country's municipal, state, and national elections. It also serves as general identity, address, and
age proof for other purposes such as buying a mobile phone SIM card or applying for a passport. It also serves as a Travel Document to travel to India and Bhutan by Land or Air.
How Register To Vote:
Voter registration is continuous throughout the year,
Nepalese citizen aged 16 or above can register their names in the voter roll in all the 77 District Election Offices and District Administration Offices and voter registration mobile teams as announced by the Commission. However, to be eligible voters, they have to be at the age of 18 or above.
Special registration programs are also conducted depending on the need assessment,
Name list of registered voters are integrated and de-duplicated in the central server in the ECN headquarters and segregated data is distributed to the District Election Offices,

News about voter list:
The Election Commission (EC) is set to
resume voter list compilation and update from 1 Aashadha 2079,
The commission has given this information by organizing a press conference on Tuesday.
Voter lists will be collected from all election offices and all district
administration offices and 73 area administration offices from July 20, said
Shaligram Sharma Poudel, spokesperson of the commission.
He also said that the Name Registration Officer (Returning Officer) would take necessary decision to rectify the error if he submits an application withproof to correct his name, address, date of birth and other details in the voters' roll.
According to spokesperson Poudel, if any voter wants to change his / her
address in the voter list due to marriage or relocation, he / she can apply to
the former registered district or the
district election office where he / she wants to relocat
